Leonhard Packaging, to become Viking Packaging Technologies, was founded in Kohler, WI in 1996 by Rick Leonhard (President). In 2004, brother Robb Leonhard (Vice-President) and RC Huhn (CFO) joined the company. Two years later, Scott Miller (VP of Product & Technology) joined the leadership team.
While experiencing tremendous growth, in 2007 the four partners decided to grow a more global presence and formed an exclusive partnership with Masek of the Czech Republic, a dominant European packaging machinery company. This led to the formation of Viking Masek Global Packaging Technologies.
Needing additional space for their growing packaging machine company, VIking Masek built a brand new manufacturing, sales, and service facility in Oostburg, WI, moving their operations in 2012 to the new building.
Fueled by unprecedented growth in 2015, Viking Masek embarked on the first phase of the expansion of their US headquarters in Oostburg, WI, adding 18,000 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space as well as additional office space to the north side of their current facility. In mid-2016, Viking Masek completed the second phase of their facility expansion project, building a new wing that houses sales, marketing, and project management, as well as a new customer lounge area.
In February of 2017, Viking Masek was named Sheboygan County Manufacturer of the Year by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce for their growth in facilities, jobs, and sales.

We offer rugged and economical VFFS baggers, high-speed continuous motion vertical baggers, stick pack and sachet packaging machines, and rotary premade pouch machines. Our baggers integrate seamlessly with weighers and fillers, infeed and outfeed equipment, metal detectors and X-ray systems, cartoners and casepackers, and other automated packaging equipment. Viking Masek has packaging covered from Tote to Pallet™. No project is too small or too large; our experienced staff looks forward to learning the details of a project and developing a packaging solution that is unique to the application.
At Viking Masek, our company culture is very important. Privately and family-owned in a small town in Wisconsin, our relaxed and family-oriented company culture touches everything we do. We work hard and play hard, and celebrate our successes as well as learn from our failures together. After a week of hard work, you will see employees gathered in our "coffee shop" lunchroom on Fridays after work to relax and commiserate.
A few times a month, staff is treated to a company lunch, and often in warmer months this includes "frying out" brats and burgers on our outdoor grill. The company Wellness Committee organizes on-site fitness boot-camps, run/walk teams, and chair massages, just to name a few. Viking Masek leadership knows that the key to a successful company is happy employees, and they work hard to achieve that goal.
